Interdisciplinary rehabilitation therapy
Interdisciplinary rehabilitation therapy involves a team of trained rehab therapists who work together synergistically under the supervision of the senior specialists to develop a treatment programme based on the patient’s clinical picture and diagnosis. The personal therapy programme devised for the patient gives priority to the existing functional disorders, the patient's risk profile and to his or her individual physical stress tolerance. At the core of treatment strategy are the functional training exercises. These physical exercises are accompanied by education programmes that provide patients with specific disease- or disorder-related information and that are designed to motivate patients to cooperate actively in their therapy programme and to train and encourage beneficial changes in behaviour. In addition, intensive psychological support and social counselling is provided by the chief rehabilitation doctors to facilitate the return to a normal social and work environment
